Health Checkups
Another MCF cornerstone is the life-enhancing Health Check Program. This project is in conjunction with GlobalCare Hospital and the migrant schools MCF works with. MCF brings children to the hospital where they receive a full health check that is paid for by MCF and our sponsors. To date, over 5000 children have benefited from the extensive health checks and one life was substantially lengthened and enhanced thanks to early detection of heart problems.
Glasses Galore
Poor eyesight often keeps children at the low end of educational achievement. To counter this, MCF has created the Glasses Galore Program, during which children undergo eye examinations and are provided glasses if poor eyesight is detected. So far, over 400 children have received glasses and their participation in class and marks have improved.
Dental care
Having healthy teeth and gums, and knowing how to look after them, is essential for anyone, especially children. As a child, you always tend to go for foods which can cause problems later on in life. Dental care is a new program that MCF started in partnership with the Oasis Hospital which entails taking the children to the Hospital, and examining and treating their teeth with fluoride. The care for your teeth activities is done in a fun and interactive way using plastic moulds for children to practice on to give them hands on experiences.
